Lithgow provides aqua aerobics or aqua exercise classes in a controlled and safe environment. Focussing on womens's health in the Lithgow district, it is well known that aqua exercises can burn more fat than exercises on dry land, in addition to protecting your joints and making your muscles work harder while having fun at the same time. Is this possible? Well, yes actually, it's quite easy and relaxing. Aqua exercises are great for your body, for your health and for your state of mind and it increases your overall body strength.

Instead of weights, the water provides a natural resistance to your movements. Resistance is increased with the use of dumbells and noodles. They may be light out of the water yet in the water, bells can be the equivalent of up to 10kgs of weight and noodles, up to 2kgs of weight, depending on how fast they are used.

As the body is almost weightless in the water, it becomes an ideal thing to do at the end of a long and busy day. You can actually do just about any aerobic activity routine in water that you might do out of water. The beauty of this type of exercise is that it can be performed by anybody and you do not have to know how to swim to take part. It is fantastic, from the young and fit, pregnant or new mothers, children to people in their seventies and beyond. This is a workout that is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels -- even for professional athletes who are cross-training.
